Bernd and Hilla Becher were photographers working as a collaborative duo. Well known for their typologies, their work often revolved around the documentation of industrial structures such as gas tanks, preparation plants and winding towers. Many of their typologies removed the subject matter from their environment, leaving an objective documentation of the structures existence. Within each typology, each shot is taken with almost identical parameters, giving the finished works a strict clinical feel. Their works create an interesting comparison of structures, often leading to the viewer analysing the differences within each shot.
